My private food and wine tours and experiences offer a world of possibilities, and are geared towards fellow shameless hedonists who want more. Travelers who enjoy connecting with locals, sharing special moments, finding incredible pasta, sampling the best cheese and charcuterie, seeing views that steal your breath away, drinking excellent wine (not necessarily expensive; just really good) and eating amazing gelato.

​I make it a point to go beyond the ordinary and off the beaten path during these tours, because I believe that this is where the essence of Tuscan life unfolds. Many of my tours spotlight Tuscany's enchanting (yet under-the-radar) regions: the idyllic Lucca countryside, the sun-drenched Bolgheri area (Super Tuscan wines!), or the Pisan hills (arguably one of Tuscany's most spectacular landscapes. It amazes me how few have discovered this gem, though a part of me is secretly happy about it, too, as it keeps the crowds away…)

​How does it work?

Private tours are always custom-made. We can visit an area or a winery that you are specifically interested in, or you can ask for my recommendations. If you'd like for me to suggest a tour, I will ask you some questions to get to know you better, and suggest an itinerary that I think will be the most enjoyable for you and your group.

 

What are the most popular tours?

Many of my clients choose to use these tours to explore things that they wouldn't be able to see or access on their own. For example: one of the best-loved tours is the cheese and wine tour, which includes a visit to a traditional farm that makes delectable Tuscan cheeses, followed by a visit to a wonderful winery, and an ancient village.

Another popular option is the Secret Tuscany Tour, during which we will visit an artisanal charcuterie maker, a private vespa museum, an excellent winery, and end with a magical picnic at a hidden location with stunning views. Another favorite is the Lucca Magic Tour, which includes a visit to some of the best wineries in the hills, a private visit to an ancient mansion, and a memorable meal at very special trattoria...

There are also foraging tours, beach tours, truffle hunting tours, private cooking classes in the countryside, guided wine tastings, bike tours and hikes – everything and anything is possible!

​Where do these tours take place? Across Tuscany, usually, but sometimes we visit Liguria, too.

 

​When? Private tours can be booked year round. If you'd like to tour with me personally, I would suggest booking your spot well in advance. I will do my best to accommodate your request but keep in mind that I also teach at the university and lead small group tours, so availability is limited…

Price per person: it depends on the tour, and on the size of your group, but generally speaking private tours start at 180 euro per person.
